My Heart
I let go of any thoughts or feelings that block or cloud the love that God has put in my heart. Love allows me to look past my fear reactions in my child. I can make a stronger heart connection with my child.
The Lord does not see us as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7

Comfort
I received the love of God. I am comforted, strengthened, and assured in His love. I can freely express what I have received to my child.
I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will hold you with my victorious right hand. ~Isaiah 41:10

Peace
I choose to bring harmony and peace into my relationship with my child. I respond with compassion, kindness, thoughtfulness, and being connected.
Agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. ~ 2 Corinthians 13:11

Trust
I remove any limitations I may have put on God. I allow myself to trust God more each day. Doubt and fear are removed and I parent with love.
All these things will be given to you as well. ~Matthew 6:33

Loved In Action
Before I act, I pray and listen. Prayer keeps me from reacting in fear instead of responding in love to my child. Prayer prepares me for right direction and right ideas.
But be doers of the word, not merely hearers. ~James 1:22

Joy
I pray to be open to the struggles of my child. By facing my pain, I can be with my child and his pain. We can then heal together, and be filled with joy.
Very truly, I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice: you will have pain, but your pain will turn into joy. ~John 16:20

Light
As I breathe, relax, and become still, I become more aware of the Holy Spirit within me. My spirit shines bright as my fears and anxieties are cleared away. I can now light up my relationship with my child.
No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all in the house. ~ Matthew 5:15
